WHAT WE DO

WE TRAIN ATHLETES TO THINK, REACT & MOVE.  


AN ATHLETE'S ABILITY TO RESPOND TO A STIMULUS QUICKLY AND CORRECTLY IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN ATHLETIC SUCCESS. 

  • THINK (cognitive): We train our athletes for improved speed of processing, reaction time and faster recognition of sports related situations.

  • REACT (The connection between THINKING & MOVING): We connect the cognitive training and the physical training in order to improve an athletes response to a stimulus, whether it is the whistle to start a game, a gunshot to start a race, the puck drop, seeing the ball as it leaves the pitcher's hand, the defensive slide, etc.

  • MOVE (physical): ALL Movement requires balance & coordination. Athletic Movement also requires agility, speed and strength. We utilize a physical training program built on feedback in the form of objective data. We assess, train and test each of these movement factors in order to validate our specific methods and track the athletes progress in each area.

HOW WE DO IT

WE DON'T SIMPLY USE TECHNOLOGY, WE LEVERAGE IT.

Like any field, technology has been on the forefront of athletic development and human performance. The technology we are using in the AIQ Lab is the same exact technology being used by Professional and Olympic teams.  This technology allows us to gain a deeper insight into an athlete's physical and cognitive performance and allows us to adapt and improve our training practices using the data it provides. We don't just assess speed and agility, we evaluate each athlete's symmetry and efficiency. A balanced, efficient athlete will not only perform better, they are also much less prone to injury. 


It's not just better training, it's SMARTER training.

For some athletes, the fastest route to improved performance lies in the development of their physical abilities. For others, their cognitive ability is holding them back from being able to think and react at "game speed". For most, it is a combination of the two that pushes them to the next level of performance. Fortunately, our assessment process will quickly indicate the "weakest link" in the human performance chain and allow us to focus on the area or areas that need the most development.

Our athletes gain peace of mind knowing they are working hard to improve specific, performance-related abilities using objective data as their barometer.

HOW WE START

The first step in joining AIQ Nation is getting an athletic evaluation. There are a few evaluation options available. Call us to find out which one is right for you. Once we schedule and complete an assessment, we will discuss which class is the appropriate starting point. Movement from class to class is based on reaching specific benchmarks designed to ensure that each athlete has a stable and symmetrical foundation. Once the foundation is built, we can begin to increase the training demands and overall training load.  Our goal is to develop each athlete at their own pace, in the safest way possible, while allowing them to move to the next level as soon as they are physically ready to do so.

WHAT is Athletic IQ? We are an athletic performance company that uses sport-science & technology to improve our athletes physical & cognitive ability.

WHEN can I train? Our CORE classes are offered once a day Monday through Friday and Sunday. We vary the start time of each class on a daily basis in order to fit the needs of our athletes.

WHERE are you located: Athletic IQ Lab, Winter Garden Arena, Ridgefield, CT

WHY is your training in demand? Athletes have realized the potential that exists in the development of their cognitive ability and reaction time. When competing at the highest level, the difference between winning and losing is  often measured in milliseconds, and that gap can be closed or even overcome by improving our cognitive ability while we develop our physical strength and coordination. As we say at AIQ, Train the Body, Harness the MIND!

HOW do you train your athletes to Think & Move faster? Our AIQ Training Platform is built on a foundation of balance, symmetry, cognitive speed and physical strength. All of our athletes must meet specific, objective bench-marks in order to move from one class to another. Each class trains multiple physical and cognitive abilities using Microgate technology as both the test and the assessment.
