Every athlete joins our program with a different athletic & cognitive profile and baseline. The athlete's age, maturity level, physical and cognitive strength, and future goals are all a part of the evaluation process. Whether the athlete is currently looking for in-season, off-season or pre-season training, we offer a program that will work WITH the athletes current physical and mental demands to support the athletes growth.

ATHLETIC PROGRESSION

Exceptional Progress

Most athletes begin their training with Athletic IQ in Ground School. Ground School is the FOUNDATION of our program. In Ground School, each athlete develops the balance, physical symmetry and coordination necessary to move into advanced training safely and successfully. Ground School classes are offered 5x a week and will prepare our newest athletes for future programs. As balance is the foundation of all movement, Ground School is the foundation of our Athletic IQ training program. Athletes in Ground School will also participate in Cognitive training activities and will be required to do regular Brain HQ training (license provided by Athletic IQ). Athletes graduate from Ground School by reaching specific benchmarks for balance, proprioception, Reactive Strength Index and Speed of Processing.


Once an athlete graduates from Ground School, they have a choice between two very progressive A-IQ programs, Think & Move or Flight School.


Think & Move is designed to give our athletes the opportunity to train in a movement-based program without the use of free weights. We simply train our athletes to Think & Move faster and with more efficiency. ​Each class is fast, fun and challenging. Think & Move is very much as the name implies. We train athletes to recognize and react to stimulus faster and with more explosive and efficient movements. We train true Agility, using Microgate Semaphores as the stimulus, along with reaction-time using the Microgate Witty system. This class is driven by Microgate technology and validated by data being collected from each athletes RFID wristband. Think & Move class adds core strength, agility, coordination, improved brain speed & reaction time and the ability to move in all directions with equal speed and efficiency. 

Flight school is where we add weight training and advanced plyometrics to the athletes programming in order to increase power and develop muscular strength. The goal becomes increasing speed, strength and explosiveness. Cognitive processing speed and reaction-time continue to improve as the athlete is increasingly challenged in all areas of athletic and cognitive development. This program is suitable for advanced MS athletes, HS athletes (especially those involved in contact sports), Collegiate athletes and Professional athletes. Each athlete will move at their own pace and will be fully aware of the data associated with their physical and cognitive scores and growth. All athletes in the Flight School program will continue to utilize Brain HQ training and develop (or maintain- at the highest levels) speed of processing, field of view and true agility.

The goal of Flight School is to get stronger & faster while correcting imbalances, strengthening weaknesses, and becoming more efficient in your movement patterns. The most important rule at Athletic IQ is that strength is never built on an unstable foundation! Physical symmetry and good form are the keys to athletic development and building muscle. Our Flight School program combines strength & conditioning with reaction & agility exercises to help you develop strength while improving explosiveness and mental processing speed.

AIQ BENCHMARKS

Motivation by Metrics

The AIQ Index is a 5 test, 1,000 Point Index designed to give an overall assessment to the whole athlete. Each test measures a specific athletic or cognitive ability. Progress in any of the five measurable will result in an increased overall score. The first AIQ Benchmark is a total score of 700 or higher. The second is 800 and the third is 900.

THE AIQ QUICK CHECK

4-STEP ASSESSMENT OF BRAIN & BODY HEALTH

The AIQ Four Quick Check is an athletic assessment built on four tests. The AIQ Quick-Check can be done in our AIQ Labs and will provide your athlete with scores on four critical athletic performance assessments. The AIQ Quick-Check allows athletes to assess their athletic & mental performance and gives coaches & trainers the data required to adapt training loads & methods.   The Quick-Check also screens each athlete for cognitive speed and performance. The Quick-Check can rapidly diagnose a potential brain injury and identify athletes who are being negatively impacted by a heavy cognitive load.
